Our Story

In 2009, a small group of Gambians new(ish) to Alberta decided to start an organization to celebrate their culture, develop community ties, and create an awareness about the tiny country in West Africa where they were born and raised.

Registered with the Province of Alberta in November of 2011, the Gambian Community Association in Alberta has since grown to include over 100 members from all over Alberta.
